Compact 5.0-type Full HD-compatible monitor

For optimal shooting support

The LCD monitor CLM-FHD5, featuring functions such as Enlarging and Peaking for precise focusing, False Color and Video Level Marker for exposure adjustment assistance, and S-Log Disp. Assist for extra-reliable shooting, uses the same types of batteries that cameras do for more convenient operation in the field.

Full HD viewing

With Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) capability, the CLM-FHD5 displays crisp images, enabling precise checking of focus.

A wide range of shooting assistance functions

The CLM-FHD5 employs a rich array of functions for great still and movie shooting support, ensuring that you can focus accurately, expose images in the way you want, see precisely what is being recorded in low-contrast images, and more, while you look at the images in extra-fine detail.

Handy features for precise focusing

To check focus, you can enlarge the normal view by 3x or 6x, or use Peaking function to automatically determine which parts of the picture are in relatively sharp focus.

False color

False color function displays video signal levels of an entire image's input as color distribution to help you set exposure precisely.

Video Level Marker

Video Level Marker uses colors 2 to warn about image input areas that are overexposed/underexposed relative to the target video signal level that you choose (among five video signal levels).

S-Log Disp. Assist

This function displays the S-Log image with brightness and contrast close to those of the image as it appears in regular shooting mode, for easier focusing and monitoring.

Extending shooting freedom

A flexible shoe adapter lets you pan and tilt the monitor freely. Or use socket holes on the monitor's top and bottom to mount the monitor on a tripod, bracket or other support.

Simple, comfortable operation

Controls on the monitor, including two customizable buttons, are positioned to make monitor operation simple. The ZOOM/SELECT button, for example, is easy to reach in its corner.

Battery/AC power for long, convenient use

The monitor uses the same W, M and V batteries as cameras do, so you can take it for long periods of shooting without also having to bring along special batteries. There's also an optional AC adapter that's handy for long operating sessions without batteries.

Various power sources

1. AC adapter AC-PW10AM / 2. NP-FW50 (up to 60 min. 3 ) / 3. NP-FM500H (up to 120 min. 3 ) / 4. NP-FV50 (up to 50 min. 3 ) / 5. NP-FV70 (up to 130 min. 3 ) / 6. NP-FV100A (up to 300 min. 3 )

Features:

  • Designed to be a perfect accessory especially for compact cameras, the CLM-FHD5 is extra-capable at displaying glorious high-resolution Full HD images on a larger screen, in place of a viewfinder for cameras with a high pixel count, so you can use it to ensure precise focus by examining fine details.
  • Press the center of the monitor's ZOOM/SELECT button to toggle through a magnification ratio cycle from 1x, to 3x, to 6x. With 3x or 6x magnification, you can move the enlarged area to a desired position for precise focus checking by manipulating the ZOOM/SELECT button (Up/Down/Left/Right).
  • The monitor's peaking function displays an image in monochrome except for the area(s) that are in relatively sharp focus indicated in red, so you can instantly check to see if focus is where you want it to be. This function is also available for enlarged images, and different peaking levels are used for different magnifications.
  • False Color function displays video signal levels of entire image input as color distribution to help users accurately set and adjust exposure levels. Six colors are used - red indicates 108% (video signal level) or more and violet indicates 3% (video signal level) or less.
  • Video Level Marker colors specific video brightness levels in images to help achieve optimum exposure and skin tone according to a user-selected target video signal level. Relative to the user-selected level, dark gray indicates lower video signal level (areas of lower exposure) and light gray indicates higher video signal level (areas of higher exposure).
  • S-Log Disp. Assist functions show S-Log images with brightness and contrast close to those of the image as it appears in regular shooting mode, for easier focusing and monitoring. It also allows users to adjust brightness while images are displayed in S-Log Disp. Assist (S-Log Disp. Assist Gain Adjustment).
  • Choose suitable frame proportions to record movies. Select an 80% or 90% frame for viewing in either of two aspect ratios and see how the full image is to be cropped for TV viewing. Choose among four Marker display settings according to particular conditions for playback of your footage on a TV: 80% (16:9), 90% (16:9), 80% (4:3) and 90% (4:3).
  • C1 and C2 customizable buttons can provide direct, simple access among eight frequently used functions (Peaking, False Color, Video Level Marker, Volume, Brightness, Contrast, Color-tone (phase/hue), Backlight) for more speedy, intuitive, responsive shooting. Also, Peaking and False Color functions are assigned to C1 and C2 respectively by default.
  • To enhance visibility, you can adjust the monitor's brightness, contrast, color tone, backlight, color temperature (screen white balance) just as you like, or according to shooting conditions. Moreover, the preview function allows you to check the effects of your settings before you save those settings.
  • Only in an ideal world are we inseparable from our Sony cameras. But to make the CLM-FHD5 more practical for use from everyone's point of view in the real world, the monitor easily connects to a variety of cameras (in addition to Sony's) that are equipped with an HDMI terminal for high-resolution output and feature live-view function.
  • See a fantastic view from virtually any angle. The shoe adapter in which the monitor sits can swivel about 180 degrees both right and left, and can flip about 90 degrees both forward and backward, so the monitor can pan and tilt as freely and smoothly as you want it to, whether it's mounted on a tripod, bracket, or other stable support.
  • Top and bottom receptacle openings let you attach the monitor as you like (using screws and bolts, for example) to a tripod, bracket, or other stable support, giving you all the freedom you need to situate the monitor securely and safely for viewing from virtually any conceivable position, in any situation.
  • Great viewing is not all that the CLM-FHD5 has to offer. You can also clearly hear the sound that is/has been recorded along with movie footage either privately by connecting headphones to the monitor's headphone jack, or by listening to the monitor's built-in monaural speaker.
