The design of this filter guarantees it wont last

Ive owned the DLE8400We dryer for a little over two years now. Already the lint filter is broken. The folding design with only bendable plastic instead of a real hinge is guaranteed to fail as other reviewers have stated. The cost of this filter is outrageous as well. One could spend hundreds of dollars over the life of the dryer just replacing lint filters. Furthermore failed lint filters present a fire hazard. There should be a safety recall issued. This could be my first and last LG purchase if this is the best they can do.

This filter is flimsy and not designed to withstand normal use. All the complaints are the same and your response has been that you will look into it. What has resulted when you realize a faulty filter just doesnt work? Please send redesigned filters to all purchasers of this model and maybe your brands reputation can be rescued from the hole youre digging.
Im appeased that a replacement filter cost over $50 and it still will not perform adequately willl it last 3 or 6 months before it fails again?

I have only been using this for 3 months. I read about them breaking on people. I dont bend it open very much so I dont stress the plastic. I think it will last a while as long as Im careful like this. LG since its very then brittle plastic you should lower the price so people are not so mad when they have to buy another one. But to everyone else dont bend it open more than you need to when cleaning it and I think it will last a lot longer than the ones people manhandle.

This lint trap was obviously designed to be replaced frequently thereby making LG more money. It hinges on two pieces of quarter inch plastic that is not meant to be repeatedly bent. Unit failed less than two years of use from brand new dryer seeing this kind of garbage being put out makes me want to not buy anything from LG again.

I am having the same problem as all the other reviewers The plastic on my lint filter has broken in the exact same places on both sides of the bottom where the filter curves. The replacement is never in stock and so I have what I thought was my dream laundry setup and am always pulling my hair out trying to get this darn vent to go in and out of the dryer after each load to clean it and its an absolute nightmare SO disappointing after such a significant investment to make my life easier with a busy household of 4 Can you please help me get this resolved so I do not have to keep using a broken lint vent for the next 6 months. Its also a severe fire safety hazard the manufacturing product materials and design of this dryer vent My dryer model is DLE8400WE.AE and LG Dryer Lint vent model is ADQ74233201. $60 for a replacement that has this kind of manufacturing and safety defect is totally unfair and price gouging of loyal LG customers who COULD have bought countless OTHER brands but CHOSE LG

Horrible design with the lint filter. A couple reviews state the same issues I am having. Broken plastic. After reading the responses from LG I am not confident the issue will be corrected? They simply tell the user to refer to the users manual for proper use of lint filter. Come on LGfairly certain we all know how to use the lint filter correctly. To purchase a replacement is over $50 and not in stock.
I have used LG appliances in the past but will DEFINITELY check the lint filter design for any future dryer purchases

Purchased washer and dryer and lint screen broke a little within the first month of owning. Just deat with it as I truly have not had time until now to find replacement. Its pretty much useless at this point bc entire screen in the bottom crease portion is missing/torn. Whoever came up with an open and shut - 4 sided filter CLEARLY doesnt do laundry for a family of 5. If I could go back I would NOT buy this dryer- my old LG worked better and filter was great but my husband wanted to buy matching set when our washer finally gave out. Im a loyal LG appliance customer but this filter needs an upgrade

The lint filter is not able to be easily cleaned it snaps shut and is not easy to empty without making a mess. I have had the dryer for about a year and the filter had collected some sand from a dryer cycle I took the filter out to empty it ad shook it gently and the plastic frame cracked in multiple places

Most ridiculous lint trap for dryer I have ever seen. I have owned this dryer for 4 months and in the third month the bottom curve of the lint trap cracked and broke. Its also a huge pain to open close and clean. Would definitely not recommend would definitely not buy again. And to make matters even worse I finally come to get a price to replace the filter trap and its over $50?? The dryer was almost $1000 and now Im supposed to throw out another 50 just 4 months later? Wow Do better LG Im very disappointed

Worst lint trap filter ever. Its a huge pain to open/close and remove all dirt and lint. But not the reason for my review. I hav had this dryer for 4 months and on the 3rd month the filter broke on the bottom curve. Now as Im looking for a replacement I see that they are $50 plus. Are you kidding me? After just spending $1900 for the washer dryer set? Ridiculous

The dumbest lint filter design I have ever used. In terms of use its a pain to clean/empty and even more annoying to close. Youd think the closing design would filter better but it seems to let a lot of lint/hair/fur past which will inevitably decrease the lifespan of the whole dryer. It is way too easy to tear a small hole in the filter the reason I had to buy a new one and to my surprise the piece of junk Is over $50. Would give 0 stars. 3 months with this dryer and this lint trap has me excited to buy a new one already.

I have dryer model dlgx8101v. I ordered filter part number adq73373201 but received the wrong filer marked as adq73373201. Order #LG251431. I called LG last Friday 1/31/2025 and emailed pictures as they requested. They confirmed I ordered the right part number. As of today Thursday 2/6/2025 I have not received an answer. They were going to check with the warehouse.

I was so pleased that a relatively small spare part was still available to purchase 7 years after my original purchase. The website was easy to navigate and the correct part was clearly identifiable.
